The 2017 Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley, containing 14% Petite Sirah, is medium ruby-purple and begins with meaty/smoky notions over black cherries, strawberry and boysenberry plus notes of dried herbs, scorched earth and floral/spicy tones. Medium-bodied, it offers lush red fruits in the mouth, with a firm frame of grainy tannins and juicy acidity, finishing long on a stone fruit note. This needs some more time in bottle. 335 cases produced.

The 2017 Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley is a small step up and offers darker, richer notes of black cherries, savory herbs, and earth. It’s slightly more reticent aromatically compared to the Sonoma County release, yet it has another layer of concentration on the palate, with medium to full body, a ripe, sexy texture, and a great finish. It’s another gem.
