The 2018 Meursault Poruzots 1er Cru has much more complexity and mineralité than Jobard's Poruzots: touches of undergrowth and fern, cooking apple and honeysuckle. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, fresh and vibrant, quite spicy on the mid-palate with touches of ginger and desiccated orange peel. I appreciate the substance on the finish - good use of extract here. This is very promising. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.

The 2018 Meursault Les Porusots 1er Cru is maybe the dark horse of Dominique Lafon’s wines this vintage. Exceptional clarity and delineation on the nose, the crushed rock and white flower scents wafting from the glass. The palate is well defined and sports a very subtle reduction. Powerful and intense with plenty of spice, ginger and white pepper enhancing the finish. Superb. (NM)
The 2018 Meursault Les Porusots 1er Cru has a focused, mineral-driven, petrichor-tinged bouquet that is classic in style. The palate is very well balanced, with pineapple, candied orange peel and light spicy notes, although I am seeking just a little more matière to develop on the linear, reserved finish. Fine.
