Medium ruby, the 2018 Pinot Noir Yu-ki Estate, aged in 17% new French oak, has deep aromas of wild berries, fir, saline, bergamot, iodine and licorice. The medium-bodied palate is fresh, silky and packed with spicy fruits, finishing with juicy lift and anchoring mineral tones. This comes from an organically farmed vineyard in Occidental overlooking the Pacific Ocean, at about 1,000 feet of elevation. 440 cases were made.

The 2018 Pinot Noir Yu-ki Estate is a deep, powerful wine that melds together rich West Sonoma Coast fruit with a whole range of savory notes, all supported by bright acids and a good deal of structure. Raspberry, blood orange, spice and pomegranate all build in a gorgeous Sonoma Coast Pinot from a site at 1,000 feet in elevation two miles east of Occidental. Lifted floral notes linger nicely.
All from the estate vineyard on the Sonoma Coast and aged in 17% new oak, the 2018 Pinot Noir Yu-Ki Estate is more reserved aromatically yet offers solid darker currant and berry fruits intermixed with spice, black tea, and earthy nuances. It's terrific on the palate, with medium-bodied richness and depth, some building yet silky tannins, outstanding balance, and plenty of length. It's going to evolve nicely for 7-8 years.
