Note di degustazione
Medium to deep garnet-purple in color and a little closed at this stage, the 2009 Syrah Lolita Ranch opens out to crushed black cherries, warm blackberries and forest floor with touches of lavender, sautéed herbs and star anise. Full-bodied and firmly framed with rounded tannins and great freshness, it delivers slow releasing fruit and finishes with satisfying persistence.

The 2009 Syrah Lolita Ranch is rich, dark and implosive. Another huge, powerful wine, the Lolita Ranch emphasizes depth and structure to match its dark, intense flavors. Black fruit, menthol and asphalt emerge on the extroverted finish. (AG)
Inky purple. Brooding aromas of cherry pit, cassis, licorice and cracked pepper, complemented by a smoky overtone. In a broad-shouldered, masculine style, offering impressive palate coverage to its deep black and blue fruit flavors. Dusty tannins add firm grip to the long, smoky finish. Give this youthful wine at least a few more years of bottle age.
Also a blend of 100% Syrah and aged in 90% new French oak, the 2009 Martinelli Syrah Lolita Ranch offers a gorgeous array of spiced red and black fruits, coffee, vanilla, and dried flowers that flows to a seamless, beautifully polished palate. While not as dense or concentrated as the Zio Tony, it is medium to full-bodied, balanced, and very rich, with awesome purity, fine tannin, and a heady, lengthy finish. Enjoy bottles over the coming 8-10 years.

Martinelli is a Sonoma benchmark for vineyard-designate bottlings—wines built to highlight how strongly a single site can shape Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Across the range, the focus stays consistent: small-production bottlings that feel distinctly tied to where they’re grown.
