The opaque purple-colored 2000 Petite Syrah Estate (200 cases) exhibits aromas of ink, minerals, licorice, incense, and black fruits along with full body, huge extraction, and mouth-searing levels of tannin. Full ruby. Black raspberry, kirsch and black pepper on the nose. Dry and inexpressive, with little sign of flavor development. Finishes slightly tart. From a large crop of very young vines that never got completely ripe.
