2005 Domaine Lignier-Michelot Morey-Saint-Denis Chenevery 1er Cru

Medium ruby-red. Briary black cherry, licorice and a suggestion of mentholatum on the nose. Hard to taste today owing to the level of CO2, but this is concentrated and sappy, with flavors of kirsch and crushed stone. Firm acids contribute to the impression of backbone. Strong but youthfully austere, and long on the aftertaste. Very 2005 in character and built to age.
