Note di degustazione
The 2018 Pinot Noir Estate is a reference point for the Santa Cruz Mountains in this even-handed, transparent vintage. Enticing aromas of red cherries, pomegranates, apple skin, fresh herbs and pine needles collect to form a signature Mount Eden nose. The mid-palate is initially silky and direct, quickly gaining momentum, power and delineation. Equal parts fresh, sweeping and tenacious, this has immediate appeal while displaying all the hallmarks of a long life in the cellar.

The 2018 Pinot Noir is gorgeous. Deep and super-expressive, the 2018 has so much to say. Hints of dried herbs, blood orange, rose petal, cinnamon and star anise complement a core of red cherry/plum fruit nicely. This stylish, elegant Pinot has a ton to offer. But it also needs time, as the stem component is a bit pronounced in the early going.
There are around 1,000 cases of the 2018 Pinot Noir, and it's a beautiful, complex, medium-bodied Pinot Noir offering lots of red fruits (framboise, strawberry, mulberry) as well as notes of sassafras, wildflowers, peppery herbs, and orange blossom. I love its overall balance, and it has a wonderful core of sweet fruit without being fruit-forward, offers a tinge of chalky minerality with time in the glass, and delivers a fresh, focused finish that makes it a joy to drink.
