Note di degustazione
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is a blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot coming from five vineyards located in Coombsville, Oak Knoll and St. Helena. It was aged for 17 months in French oak barrels, 50% new. Deep garnet-purple colored, it sings of fresh blackcurrants, wild blueberries and Morello cherries with hints of spearmint, bouquet garni and lilacs. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is chock-full of vibrant black fruits with an approachable, grainy texture and a lively line of freshness, finishing with an invigorating lift. 550 cases were made.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a blend of all five of the single vineyards and is 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot. This youthful, unevolved Cabernet boasts a deep purple color as well as Bordeaux-like crunchy black and blue fruits, green tobacco, violets, and cedarwood. It’s rich and medium to full-bodied, with a beautiful, elegant mouthfeel and great tannins, all making for a terrific Cabernet to enjoy over the coming 15 years or more.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is exuberant and punchy from the very first taste. Inky red/purplish fruit, mocha, lavender, spice and licorice race across the palate. Floral notes and a kick of blood orange add an attractive upper register. I would cellar the 2018 for a few years, as the tannins are a bit firm. That should not be in issue in time.
