Note di degustazione
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is a powerful, tightly wound wine. Grilled herbs, smoke, licorice, cedar and tobacco open up in the expressive bouquet. The 2014 is going to need a bit of time to soften, but it is impressive today just the same. Like all the Roy Cabernets, the 2014 is deep and explosive, but it needs time to soften.

Made from 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate has a slowly evolving nose of smoked meats, sandalwood and unsmoked cigars over a core of cassis, blackberry pie and dried mulberries. Medium-bodied and finely styled in the mouth with bags of finesse, it has a savory, understated palate and quiet intensity on the finish. 500 cases produced.
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon stands out for its finesse and aromatic nuance, both of which add an attractive upper register to the dark, lush fruit. This is a super appealing wine from Shirley Roy made in a slightly more restrained style than in the past. The 2014 is just as impressive as it was last year.
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is another gorgeous wine. Lavender, rose petal, mint, crushed rocks and spice notes all lift in the glass. Intense but also translucent, the 2014 is wonderfully complete. Here, too, winemaker Philippe Melka has gotten the most out of the vintage.
