2015 Domaine Frédéric Esmonin Gevrey-Chambertin

Moderately saturated dark red. Wilder on the nose than the Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Hauts Pruliers, offering scents of black raspberry, leather and game. Displays good texture but less density and structure than the Hauts Pruliers, with a peppery quality suggesting less-ripe grapes. There's not quite enough middle-palate material here to support the lightly drying, granular tannins. Not bad but the lightly saline finish could use more length. Will this improve in bottle? I'm not convinced.
