2006 Progeny Winery Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Progeny Vineyard, while outstanding, is less impressive than its prodigious 2005 counterpart. It exhibits a deep ruby/purple color, sweet black currant and cassis fruit intermixed with hints of blueberries, asphalt, and incense, and the vintage's elevated tannins, sufficiently backed-up by adequate depth of fruit and extract. Give it 2-3 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 15 or more. St.Clement's 2006 Cabernet Sauvignons are not as impressive as their superb 2005s, but they are well-made. Tel.
