Note di degustazione
(from volcanic ash soil with clay and loam; owner Don Stephens's wife Trish is nicknamed Moose): Deep, bright red. Aromas of black raspberry, mocha, graphite and dark chocolate. Sweet on entry, then full and seamless in the middle, with mouthcoating dark fruit flavors. Finishes with serious horizontal tannins and a note of bitter chocolate. Rather affable for a hillside wine.

Good deep red-ruby. Bright nose dominated by rocky minerality. Sweet berry fruit displays excellent depth, with strong minerality giving the wine energy and delicacy. A sexy loamy complexity carries through on the very long, sweet, broad finish, which features much suaver tannins than the 2009 bottling. Excellent potential here.
