The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Moose Valley Vineyard is another dark, opulent wine from D. R. Stephens Estate. There is plenty to like in the wine's rich, lush fruit. Dark raspberry jam, French oak and white chocolate add to the wine's flamboyant personality. I would give this dark, powerful Cabernet another year or two in bottle to fully come together.

Deep purple-black in color, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Moose Valley Vineyard is provocatively scented of sautéed herbs, chargrill, dried lavender and oolong tea with a core of warm blackberries, cassis, scorched earth and kirsch. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is firmly structured with a solid line of grainy tannins and lovely freshness supporting the muscular fruit, finishing long and earthy.
