Note di degustazione
Mid crimson. Interesting savoury nose with some transparency. Pure, rather limpid, fruit with a dry finish. Very appetising and flirtatious. (JR)

The 2010 Volnay Clos des Angles is a beautifully precise wine that blossoms in all directions with endless dimensions of flavor. Black cherries, plums, mint and licorice meld together gracefully in this wonderfully layered, expressive Volnay. A long, pure finish rounds things out in style.

The 2010s from Marquis d’Angerville are stellar. They are the product of a year that saw yields lowered by 40-50% on average. It was quite a shock to see the domain’s cellars with so few barrels in them. As always, the wines were made with fully de-stemmed fruit. I will report on the 2009s in the April issue. Scented. Rich. Sweet start and then lots of texture. Definitely doesn’t taste like top of the range but it’s not bog standard! (JR)

Marquis d'Angerville is synonymous with the village of Volnay, having long made some of the village’s finest wines. Best known for its Premier Cru monopole vineyard, Clos des Ducs, this estate crafts fine-boned, elegant styles of Pinot Noir – wines that act as standard-bearers for the appellation.
