The 2008 Syrah The Fight caresses the palate with silky dark red fruit, violets, white pepper and spices. This is a refined style of Syrah that impresses for its overall balance and sense of harmony. I especially like the nuance and depth here. The 2008 is the last vintage made from Hyde fruit. Future vintages are being made from Martinelli's Zio Tony Ranch.

Inky ruby. Highly nuanced nose evokes blackberry, licorice, violet, bitter chocolate and black olive. Tightly wound on entry, then fleshes out with air to offer sweet black and blue fruit and licorice flavors and a lashing of cracked pepper. Quite youthful and dominated by its structure right now but this shows excellent potential.
