Note di degustazione
(13% alcohol): Saturated, deep ruby-red. Cassis, licorice and spicy oak aromas are enlivened by a pungent whiff of peppery herbs. Suave and fine-grained, with the peppery herb and licorice qualities accenting black cherry fruit on the palate. Finishes with substantial drying tannins. This appears to be past its best years and starting to dry out but still has middle-palate sweetness and texture.

I thought the 1995 Merlot and 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon to be more narrowly constructed wines than the other offerings in this impressive portfolio. The 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon is tightly-knit and dense, with surprisingly high acidity, attractive black currant fruit and minerals, medium body, and moderately high tannin in the tightly-compressed finish. This wine will need 2-3 years of cellaring. This Spring Mountain winery continues to push the envelope of quality as evidenced by the current releases - the finest wines they have yet produced. Moreover, these wines catapult Pride Mountain into the top echelon of California's quality wineries. Tel. (707) 963-4949; Fax (707) 963-4848
Opaque dark ruby, black in the middle. Perfumed but reticent aromas of cassis and minerals. Very dense and very sweet in the mouth, with superb depth of black cherry and cassis flavor and an impression of solidity due in part to powerful structure. Very long on the finish, with substantial tannins covered by fruit.
