The 2017 Pinot Noir The Pivot Estate Vineyard is one of the more elegant, perfumed wines in this range. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry, mint and rose petals give the 2017 a good bit of aromatic freshness to match is lifted, mid-weight personality. This is an especially layered, nuanced Pinot.

This offers very attractive, fresh raspberries and darker cherries with woody spices, delivering such attractive complexity and allure. A hallmark of this wine. The palate has impressive dimension and delivers such smooth, red-cherry to raspberry flavors, amid sleek, fluid and long tannins. Lovely freshness throughout. Drink or hold.
The 2017 Pinot Noir The Pivot Vineyard is pale to medium ruby with an open nose of dried rose petal, tangerine peel, warm dusty earth, spiced blackberries, dried red cherries and warm cranberry—lovely layers and perfume. The palate is light to medium-bodied with layers of warm fruits, earth and spice, structured by grainy tannins and juicy freshness on the long, spicy finish.
Bright cherry red. Nose is a bit hidden at first. Intense and layered. Pretty sweet, even verging on candified, palate entry. Then a spine of very fine tannin. Bright red-fruit flavours with a hint of damp rope. Lots to discover here but for the moment it’s still a little raw, though it’s impressively persistent. (JR)
