The 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon (3,300 cases) includes 8% Cabernet Franc and nearly 4% Merlot in the blend. It boasts an excellent dark ruby/purple color in addition to a complex bouquet of roasted coffee, herbs, black currants, and spicy oak. Elegant and rich, with good texture, medium to full body, and fine purity and balance, it should drink well for 12-15 years. Tel. (707) 944-1683

Full ruby-red. Lively, somewhat briary aromas of cassis, blackberry and bitter chocolate. Supple and sweet but juicy in the mouth, with a ripe flavor of plum liqueur. Quite bright in the middle palate, and currently hiding its underlying density. Has good underlying structure. Potentially the best cabernet yet from this producer.
