More monolithic and simple than its siblings, the 2003 Pinot Noir Bucher Vineyard reveals dark fruit, forest floor, and earthy notes along with a hint of fresh mushrooms. Good medium ruby. Wild berries, iron, mocha, sassafras and a dusty suggestion of earth on the nose. Dense but not especially sweet, with wild flavors of strawberry, raspberry and spicy oak and a whiff of funk. A wine of very good but not outstanding depth and nuance. Finishes with substantial, slightly drying tannins.
