One of the lighter-bodied wines from the producer and the first to designate this Westside Road vineyard, this wine shows expansive strawberry, raspberry and blueberry flavors, with a hearty texture, moderate acidity moderate and almost creamy finish. — Virginie Boone

I’m not sure what happened with the 2014 Pinot Noir Bucher Vineyard, but there seem to have been some ripeness issues. Medium ruby in color, it has a nose of dried herbs, tar and black earth with vague red berry / sour cherry hints in the background. The palate a little hard and bitter, lean and angular. It’s not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but it doesn’t measure-up to the high caliber of the other Pinots in this line-up.
The 2014 Pinot Noir Bucher Vineyard is one of the most distinctive wines in this lineup. Black cherry, plum, game, smoke and animal notes abound. As always, Bucher yields Pinots with very strong animal/feral signatures. In 2014, those notes are quite prominent to the point of nearly overpowering the fruit.
