Punteggio 89/100 · Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2014

Ash, tar, game, smoke and black cherry notes meld together in the 2011 Pinot Noir Bucher Vineyard. A decidedly pungent and wild Pinot, the Bucher is distinctly earthy and meaty in style. A long, nicely layered finish laced with floral overtones round things out nicely. There is no shortage of personality here.

Raspberries, cherries, cola, exotic spices and sweet cedar mark the flavors of this Pinot Noir. It's elegant in the mouth, with brisk acidity, but also a distinct earthiness. The combination gives the wine a yin-yang of weight and weightlessness. It's too young to properly enjoy now, so drink from 2019 and beyond.

Bright ruby. Spicy cherry and currant aromas, with Indian spice and mineral qualities building and expanding with air. Sappy and fresh, offering dark berry and bitter cherry flavors and a hint of dark chocolate. A floral note comes up on the focused, chewy finish, which leaves a smoky note behind.
