Saturated bright ruby. Black fruits, licorice and a hint of band-aid on the nose, lifted by notes of violet and orange peel. Densely packed and intense, but rather closed today, even a bit brutal, owing to edgy, clenched acids. With air, this revealed notes of chocolate, tobacco and flowers. A juicy, very backward cabernet that may well merit a higher score with several years of additional bottle aging. Give this plenty of time in a decanter if you plan to open it soon.

The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits a dense purple color along with a big, sweet nose of blackberries, blueberries, and flowers (acacias and violets).
