Deep, brilliant ruby. A hugely perfumed nose evokes ripe red/blue fruits, cherry pie, potpourri and incense, complemented by a spicy top-note. Alluringly sweet and seamless in texture, offering palate-staining cherry, black raspberry, lavender pastille and spice-cake flavors that deepen steadily through the midpalate. Shows superb energy for its heft and betrays no rough edges. The long, penetrating finish features rounded tannins and a whiplash of juicy red fruit preserves and candied flowers.

Starting with the Oublie cuvée, this is the GSM blend from the estate that’s more Grenache-dominated. The 2018 Oublie checks in as 40% Grenache and 30% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre brought up in a mix of new and used French oak. Its vivid purple hue is followed by a gorgeous perfume of sweet black raspberries, white flowers, candied orange, and violets. This beauty is rich, full-bodied, and concentrated, yet has incredible purity of fruit, silky tannins, and an incredible sense of freshness. It makes you salivate on the finish and is already impossible to resist.
The barrel sample of the 2018 Oublié is made up of 38% Grenache, 35% Mourvèdre and 27% Syrah aging in 45% new French oak. Deep ruby-purple, it slowly offers cassis, boysenberries, blueberries and red berry sparks with loads of floral perfume plus hints of olive and charcuterie. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is silky with slowly unfurling red, black and blue fruits wrapped in a firm, finely grained frame and fantastic freshness, finishing long and perfumed. About 2,750 cases will be made.
