Note di degustazione
(16.2% alcohol; a blend of 44% cabernet franc, 37% merlot and 19% cabernet sauvignon) Deep ruby-purple color. Brooding aromas of black fruits, minerals, violet and brown spices. Lush and sweet, with terrific texture and depth. A plush, huge fruit bomb of a red that somehow carries its full load of alcohol with style. Finishes very long and smooth, with sweet tannins.

(44% cabernet franc, 37% merlot and 19% cabernet sauvignon; 16.2% alcohol) Bright, deep ruby. Porty aromas of black raspberry, bitter chocolate, violet and licorice. A superripe, inky fruit bomb with terrific intensity of black fruit, bitter chocolate and pepper flavors. Finishes with impressive breadth.
The 2002 Rudy’s Cuvee (a 425-case blend of 44% Cabernet Franc, 37% Merlot, and 19% Cabernet Sauvignon) is a blockbuster in the making. Creme de cassis intermixed with flowers, espresso, and chocolate are offered in a full-bodied, remarkably elegant, well-delineated format. It should be drinkable young, yet keep for many years. I admire what Les Behrens, Bob Hitchcock, their wives, friends, and lunatic dog are doing at their winery and cellars on the top of Spring Mountain. They are obsessed fanatics who make wine with no compromises ... obviously my kind of people. Tel. 707-963-1774; Fax 707-963-8206
