Volcanic. Some sweetness on the nose. Good balance although pretty uncompromising but with more fruit in evidence than the Woodruff Chardonnay 2013. (JR)

The 2013 Chardonnay Gap's Crown is another wine with a real sense of phenolic richness and verticality. Almond, hazelnut, stone fruit and pear notes abound, but it is the wine's structure that is most apparent today. At the moment, the Gap's Crown is very much folded in on itself, but it nevertheless offers tons of potential for the future.
