Full bottle 1,740 g – overly heavy. Dry-farmed fruit on volcanic soils. Aged for 22 months in 90% new French oak. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. Inky, opaque garnet with purple highlights. Aromas of blueberries and violets, blackberries and black cherry. Intense, almost explosive flavours of blueberry, black cherry and dried herbs are electric with excellent acidity. Powdery tannins coat the mouth and linger through the finish with hints of black tea and herbs. Powerful but without being ponderous. A study in muscular grace. Phenomenal. (AY)

Saturated opaque purple, the 2021 Malbec Farrow Ranch is all Malbec and spent 22 months in 90% new French oak. It has a highly expressive bouquet with plenty of floral perfume, dark ripe fruit, and loads of blueberry pie, boysenberries, and baking spices. Full-bodied but light on its feet, it retains fantastic acidity, with supple tannins, and it’s long on the palate. It’s an wine outstanding in this vintage and has some real aging potential over the coming 20 years.
The 2021 Malbec Farrow Ranch was matured for 22 months in 90% new French oak. It has kaleidoscopic, singularly purple scents of boysenberry, soaring lilac and violet, sweet fennel and cast iron unfurling continuously as it spends time in the glass. The full-bodied palate is heavenly! It has an effortless balance of vibrant acidity and loads of clay-textured tannins. There's wave after wave of perfumed fruit. Finessed and expressive, it's a gorgeous version of Farrow Ranch Malbec that trades density and power for elegance and detail. 310 cases were made.
