(previously labeled as Proprietary Red Wine; contains 2% petit verdot): Good full ruby. Classic aromas of cassis, licorice, loam and minerals. Lush, broad and harmonious, with lovely lift to the black raspberry and toffee flavors. Finishes with broad, fine, chocolatey tannins that coat the tongue and teeth.

Floral notes add freshness on the polished finish. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2019. Gemstone fans will notice changes to the estate’s wine names. The old Facets bottling is now known simply as “Red Wine,” while the flagship Proprietary Red is now labeled as Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2009 and 2010 vintages both incorporate 2% Petit Verdot.
