Note di degustazione
Deep ruby-purple colored, the 2015 Pinot Noir The Traveler (made from the “suitcase clone”) is a little reticent at this youthful stage, revealing pure crushed Bing cherries, raspberry tart and cranberry notes over notes of violets and dark chocolate, plus a waft of underbrush. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a nice balance between red fruit and savory/earthy flavors, with firm, grainy tannins and a lively backbone, finishing with a mineral suggestion.

The only special cuvee made in 2015, the 2015 Pinot Noir The Traveler comes from a suitcase clone (from a great, great producer in Burgundy) that was completely destemmed and spent 11 months in barrel. Awesome on the nose, with notes of violets, caramelized raspberries, blueberries, underbrush and spice, it has an ethereal texture, incredible purity and a killer finish. In short, I love this wine. Drink it anytime over the coming 10-15 years. There’s just 100 cases produced.
The 2015 Pinot Noir The Traveler is superb. Violet, lavender, spice, mint and rose petal notes all lift from the glass. Sublime, silky and wonderfully nuanced, the 2015 hits all the right notes. This is an especially gracious super-expressive Pinot Noir from Wayfarer.
