Note di degustazione
A wine that's sold only at the estate, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon checks in as 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot, all from a mountainous terroir in the northern part of the valley. Lots of smoked red and black fruits, saddle leather, dried herbs, tobacco, and cedar all emerge from this beauty, which is medium to full-bodied has a rounded, mouth-filling texture, and by this appellation’s standards, relatively moderate, soft tannins. This charmer is going to evolve for a solid decade or more.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mountain District has quite a bit to offer. It is just a bit lighter than the single vineyard wines, but more than makes up for that with its striking aromatic complexity. Gravel, dark berry fruit, spice, licorice, sage and menthol add layers of nuance to this mid-weight, yet deep, flavorful wine from Castello di Amorosa.
