Note di degustazione
Crushed flowers, spice box, cedar, tobacco and savory herbs are all laced together in the 2012 Labor of Love, the estate's Cabernet Franc-based wine from Martinez vineyard on Pritchard Hill. The 2012 is distinctly floral and spiced, with the fruit and overall radiance of the year nicely balanced throughout. Bright, saline notes support the super-expressive finish.

The 2012 Proprietary Red Blend Labor of Love from the Martinez Vineyard is a blend of 75% Cabernet and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. A dense ruby/purple color is followed by lots of cassis and background oak characteristics. It has a lot of exuberance, but still tastes like a barrel sample. There seems to be plenty of guts and potential, but another year or so of bottle age will be helpful. I love the blueberry, mulberry and cassis notes found in this pretty, medium to full-bodied blend. It should drink well for 10-12+ years.
The 2012 Labor of Love is a Cabernet Franc-based blend from Martinez. A whole range of floral and savory accents give the Labor of Love tremendous aromatic intensity and all of its Franc-driven character. Franc can be pretty special on Pritchard Hill, as this wine makes abundantly clear. Red-fleshed fruit, cedar, sweet pipe tobacco, blood orange and mint linger.
