2001 Behrens Family Syrah Chien Lunatique

(from Oakville fruit) Good medium ruby. Very closed on the nose and in need of aeration. Densely packed, vinous and extremely primary, with powerful flavors of black fruits, bitter chocolate, tar, licorice, mint and charred oak. As tightly wound as this is, it already hints at the creaminess of texture to come. Finishes with substantial broad tannins and considerable alcoholic clout.
