The 2013 Mekerra Proprietary White is 97% Sauvignon Blanc and 3% Muscadelle from the vineyard not far from where Peter Michael makes their famed Sauvignon Blanc L’Apres Midi. The wine shows honeysuckle, crisp lime and citrus notes, along with melon and exotic tropical fruits. This is tasty and somewhat reminiscent of one of my favorite Sauvignon Blancs from Northern California, the Dry Stack Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc of Russell Bevan.

The 2013 Proprietary White Mekerra is round, voluptuous and inviting. A white of texture and pure nuance, the 2013 offers a compelling mélange of peach, apricot, white flowers, French oak and slightly tropical flavors. Oily and unctuous in style, the 2013 is a wine of real personality and class.
