This is tangy and delicious with sliced lemons, peaches and melon. Limes and mangoes, too. Full-bodied and layered with a creamy texture. Extremely long and intensely flavored. Lovely, floral and biscuit character. Barrel-fermented and aged for 24 months in wood. Drink or hold. 72 bottles made.

From a higher elevation site in Knights Valley, above Peter Michael, the Sauvignon Blanc 2017 Mekerra Proprietary White spent 20 months in 70% new French oak. It just pops on the nose and has bright citrus, crushed stone, mint, and sappy herbs. Showing terrific purity and elegance, medium body, and a distinct sense of minerality, it's going to benefit from another year in bottle and drink well for 2-3 years.
The 2017 Mekerra Proprietary White is rich, ample and super-expressive. Beautifully layered and creamy with terrific volume, the 2017 is showing exceptionally well today. White flowers, passion fruit, mint and a kiss of new French oak lend an air of exotic beauty to the deep, luscious varietal Sauvignon Blanc flavors. This is such a gorgeous wine.
The 2017 Mekerra Sauvignon Blanc (100% Sauvignon Blanc) was aged 20 months in larger format barrels and 60% new oak. It comes bounding out of the glass with playful white peaches, pink grapefruit and fresh pineapple notes followed by serious cedar chest, honeysuckle, paraffin wax and crushed rocks scents. Medium-bodied, the palate bursts with vibrant citrus and stone fruit flavors, framed by a racy line and finishing long with a very pretty satiny texture. 180 cases were made.
