The 1999 Zinfandel Dickerson Vineyard is the best example produced from this Napa vineyard in more than a decade. It exhibits copious quantities of sweet black cherry and blackberry fruit as well as a hint of raspberries in its big, spicy, peppery bouquet. Saturated medium ruby. Highly aromatic, penetrating nose combines cherry, raspberry, currant, iron, dark chocolate and eucalyptus. Very intensely flavored without being especially fleshy or weighty. Flavors of blackberry and mint. Brisk acids leaven the wine sweetness. The strong acidity at a very good level of ripeness gives this Dickerson vintage unusual refinement. Finishes firm and long. Way better than the '98 Dickerson.
