Note di degustazione
Bright ruby-red. Musky aromas of minerals, cola, licorice and chocolate. Then juicy, powerful and fresh, with highly concentrated flavors of blackberry, violet and licorice; fruitier in the mouth today than on the nose. This boasts terrific volume and density. Finishes with round, sweet tannins and superb length. With extended aeration this showed a deep roasted nut character without losing its fresh blackberry and blueberry flavors.

(from the same plantation of vines as those in Charmes) Bright ruby-red. Discreet nose dominated by blackberry and cassis. Massive and masculine wine, concentrated and sweet but folded in on itself. flavors of black fruits and licorice are not yet expressive. A much more austere wine today than the Charmes, very much in the tannic style of the vintage. This will need a good seven or eight years of cellaring. Perrot-Minot says these two grand crus are at the same level of quality, and I normally prefer this to the Charmes, but today I'm not convinced.
