The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Dr. Crane Vineyard was tasted out of barrel and is another sensational wine from this estate. Smoked tobacco, cassis, currants, graphite, and licorice all flow to a full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, layered beauty. With ripe, present tannin, impressive mid-palate depth and a huge finish, it's another tour de force from this incredible vineyard.

A barrel sample, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard opens with a very deep purple-black color and intense scents of plum preserves, blueberry compote and crème de cassis with suggestions of Indian spices, Marmite toast and sautéed herbs. Big, powerful, rich and full-throttle in the mouth, the voluptuous fruit is well framed by firm, grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and spicy.
