The 2013 is deep and savory, shaped by the highly individual personality of this Geyserville site rich in decomposed shale. The 2013 Proprietary Red Nervo Ranch Heritage comes from a vineyard planted on a steep incline in 1896 and a field blend of Zinfandel, Negrette, Grenache, Petite Sirah, Trousseau, Alicante and Grand Noir. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in 30% new French oak, this super red boasts a dense ruby/purple color as well as a fabulous bouquet of spring flowers, blue and black fruits, camphor and licorice. It possesses an opulence, density and meatiness that make it alluring, mouthfilling and savory. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.
