Note di degustazione
The 1998 Brunello di Montalcino, a full ruby/garnet with black highlights, its ample nose delivers aromas of sweet plums and red currant jam, chocolate, tar, and a touch of cinnamon and cloves. Sensuous with solid flavors, long and continuous, this is a dense wine with a lovely freshness on the close as well as a deceptive sense of readiness. Drink from 2006 to 2015. One of the historic labels of Montalcino, this house has everything going for it – a fine name, excellent vineyards, and one of Tuscany’s most renowned consultants, Franco Bernabei. A guarantee, in short, and this year’s wines confirm it. Importer: Empson, USA, Alexandria, VA; tel. (703) 684-0900

Full, deep red. Reserved, slightly porty nose hints at meat and nut skin. Fat and sweet but a bit loose-knit and alcoholic, with nut and raisin flavors. Fairly full Brunello but lacks verve. Finishes fairly tannic and a bit dry.
