2016 Paul Lato Syrah Cinematique Larner Vineyard

Aged 20 months in 60% new barrels, the 2016 Syrah Cinematique comes from a great site at the southern end of Ballard Canyon in Santa Barbara County. It reveals a deep purple hue as well as stunning notes of black raspberry and blueberry fruits interwoven with notions of smoked game, lavender, ground pepper, and green olives. As with all of Paul’s wines, it offers beautiful richness and depth, yet everything is perfectly balanced, it has sweet tannins, and has this unique mix of both new and old-world styled aromas and flavors. It’s another brilliant wine that can be enjoyed today (a solid hour in a decanter is recommended) or cellared for 10-15 years.
