Note di degustazione
There are 200 cases of the 2016 Pinot Noir Dierke which comes from a site on the Sonoma Coast and saw 10% stems and one-third new oak. It has a beautiful forest floor and pine needle character as well as ripe raspberries, cherry, and passion fruit tones. Medium-bodied, silky, and incredibly elegant, with sweet tannins, it's another ballerina wine from this team that shines for its grace and complexity.

The 2016 Pinot Noir Dierke has developed into a gorgeous wine. That is the good news. The less good news is that it is still very tightly wound and in need of considerable cellaring. Even so, there is a crystalline purity to the 2016 that is impossible to miss. There is so much to look forward to. Graphite, crushed rocks, game, menthol and lavender gradually open up in the glass, but the 2016 still needs a few years to be at its best.
The 2016 Pinot Noir Dierke is one of the most potent, structured wines in the range. Dark cherry, plum, rose petal and spice notes fill out the wine's layers effortlessly. Readers will have to be patient, as the Dierke doesn’t have the charm that so many other 2016s have.
