2006 Pax Syrah Eastern Ridge

Saturated ruby color. Mineral-dominated bouquet displays cherry skin, raspberry preserves, smoked meat and baking spices, with an especially strong cinnamon quality. Deep and chewy but lively, with spicy red and dark berry flavors, firm tannins and smoky herbs building with air. Dense and a bit backward on the close, with the smoky element echoing. This one was fermented with 100% whole clusters.
