Note di degustazione
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Melanson Vineyard is another dark, voluptuous beauty from Castello di Amorosa. Here, too, the style is deceptively mid-weight, yet there is plenty of complexity in the glass. Sweet herbs, tobacco, licorice and lavender open up as the wine builds through the mid-palate and into the finish with gorgeous intensity.

The dense ruby/purple-colored 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Melanson Vineyard comes from the eastern Vaca Mountains, overlooking St. Helena, part of the area known as Pritchard Hill (an incredible source for some great wines). This 2012 possesses beautiful black raspberry and blueberry fruit intermixed with notions of spring flowers. Medium to full-bodied, elegant but intense, it is hard to resist at present, but should evolve gracefully for a decade.
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Melanson Vineyard wraps around the palate with gorgeous finesse. Soft, seamless and voluptuous to the core, the Melanson is a great example of the vintage. Sweet tobacco, spices and dried flowers all add complexity in the glass, but it is the purity of the fruit that stands out most.
