Note di degustazione
Full medium red. Sweet, high-toned aromas of dusty cherry, sappy blackberry and leather. Supple, dense and round, with a terrific core of blackberry and spices, with the wine's oak component in the deep background. Offers excellent grip without being at all hard or rigid. At once pliant and serious, with a satisfyingly fleshy, ripe finish. In sap and texture, this struck me as rather like a merlot/cabernet franc blend. A delicious wine that wears its 14. 9% alcohol gracefully. And a steal!

Good full red. Aromas of bitter cherry, dark chocolate and tar. Juicy and vibrant, offering a superb combination of thorough ripeness and inner-mouth energy. Flavors of bitter cherry, bitter chocolate and game are not nearly as sauvage as the merlot. Finishes with broad, dusty tannins, a note of black olive and excellent length. Luna will ultimately offer nearly 14,000 cases of sangiovese in 2002, but only 6,000 in 2003 as the winery has eliminated its weakest sources of fruit.
