The 2017 Rhadamanthus is a single-vineyard wine coming from the old Revery vineyard on Diamond Mountain. It is a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, all co-fermented. Deep garnet-purple, it offers up notions of baked plums, warm black cherries, crème de cassis and forest floor with hints of charcoal, wild mushrooms and cigar box. Medium to full-bodied, firm and chewy, it has just a bit of chargrill character on the long, savory finish.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Rhadamanthus Diamond Mountain District is a powerfully tannic, explosive wine that captures all the energy of this Diamond Mountain site. Graphite, savory herbs, menthol, licorice and black cherry sweep across the palate. Dense and tightly coiled, the 2017 appears to have a bright future once it settles down a bit.
Powerful and tightly wound, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Rhadamanthus, from the former Reverie estate on Diamond Mountain, is another brilliant, promising wine in Nigel and Shea Kinsman's range. A mélange of savory-infused dark fruit emerges, but only with a great deal of reluctance. The 2017 is clearly still embryonic, but it holds considerable promise.
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Rahadmanthus is a barrel sample of Cabernet Sauvignon co-fermented with around 20% Cabernet Franc and a splash of Petit Verdot, all from Diamond Mountain. Deep garnet-purple colored, it opens with notions of chargrill, sautéed herbs and scorched earth over a core of crème de cassis, spice cake and blackberry compote with a waft of mocha. Full, chewy and earthy, it gives plenty of muscular fruit and a savory finish.
