Note di degustazione
The Hirsch East Ridge Pinot takes fruit entirely from blocks throughout the eastern ridge of Hirsch Vineyard. With fresh mountain berries and wild cherry, conifer and a loamy-rocky mineral mix, the East Ridge is also spice rubbed throughout. A tauter wine than the West Ridge, this wine needs air upon opening, and a bit of time in bottle. (ECB)

The 2012 Pinot Noir Estate East Ridge is one of the more expressive wines in this range, largely because of the warmer, sunnier exposure. Dark red and purplish fruits, lavender, spices and rose petals blossom in a pliant, radiant wine loaded with personality. Even with its obvious richness, there is no shortage of tannin or structure. Although I would not open any of the Hirsch 2012s young, if I were to open one, it would be the East Ridge.
