Good full red. The reticent but pure nose delivers high-pitched notes of rose petal, violet, mint and pungent minerality. Perfumed and penetrating in the mouth, with an insidious subtle sweetness and a rocky precision to the flavors of red fruits and flowers. Finishes with a firm acid spine and toothcoating tannins but no impression of hardness. This calls for seven or eight years of cellaring.

Full red-ruby. Captivating aromas of blueberry, cassis, violet, spices and crushed stone. Dense, sappy and sweet, offering a superb blend of small dark berries and stone. A tactile, chewy wine with terrific lift. Finishes classically dry and long. This wine from 75-year-old vines is nearly always worth buying and cellaring. I'd wait six or seven years before pulling the cork.
Plenty of spice on the nose. Pretty fresh acidity. Fine, firm, dark. Not especially charming but well made. (JH)
