The 2012 Chardonnay Absolutely Eloise is a multivineyard blend made from the Old Wente, Rued and Robert Young clones of Chardonnay aged in a combination of François Frères, Damy and Louis Latour barrels. Notes of honeyed citrus, unbuttered popcorn, wet stones and a hint of pineapple are present in this big, backstrapping, full-bodied, textured, impressive Chardonnay. Enjoy it over the next 5-6 years.

Boswell's 2012 Chardonnay Absolutely Eloise is a bit more layered and expressive than the Rued. Dried pear, almond, sweet spices, lemon oil and Chamomile all meld together beautifully in the glass. The style is rich, intense and layered, with all the elements in the right place. A wine of pure texture, the 2012 will drink well upon release and for several years thereafter. There is a lot to like here.
