The 1995 Dom Pérignon P2 is an under the radar gem from Dom Pérignon. Wonderfully open-knit, deep and expressive, the 1995 captivates all the senses with its heady, arrestingly beautiful personality. Chamomile, dried pear, orchard fruit and dried flowers all open up, but it is the wine’s total balance and harmony that stand out most. The 1995 has enough energy and vibrancy to drink well for many years to come. Simply put, the 1995 is a fabulous wine. I absolutely loved it.

Broad nose. So complete and savoury with a certain sweetness on the palate. Very easy to like. Like the P1 in a corset. Dry finish. All potential rather than actuality. (JR)
The 1995 Dom Pérignon P2 is in great shape today. Lemon confit, orange blossom, honey, hazelnut, smoke, chamomile and buttery notes infuse the 1995 P2. Ample, generous and resonant on the palate, the 1995 has a lot to offer. I would prefer to drink it over the next 10-15 years, as the 1995 doesn't look like it has the depth or freshness to be an especially long-lived wine, by Dom Pérignon standards.
Chef de cave, Richard Geoffroy: '1995 is remembered for its exceptional summer. Spring was rather gloomy and the vines flowered late but quickly, thanks to summer weather which had reached heat-wave proportions by the end of June. For two months there was very little rain, a few isolated storms, and temperatures for the season were the highest for the last thirty years. Harvesting began on 18 September for the Chardonnay, and 25 September for the Pinot Noir.' Disgorged in 2007 . Mid pale gold. Quite a ripe nose. Big and bold, even toasty. Lively toasted almonds. A little dry on the finish. Some dried apricots. Exuberant, not quite as long as 1996 and 1998. Lots of fun but less complete and complex than some. (JR)
