Note di degustazione
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve was the first vintage made on the property and is a partially barrel fermented blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon blended with a small amount of Cabernet Franc. This inky colored, concentrated, full-bodied 2014 offers terrific notes of cassis, currants, toasted spices and graphite. More broad and expansive than the 2013, yet not quite and pure or seamless, with present tannin, give bottles 3-4 years and enjoy over the following two decades.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve captures all the personality of this site on the southern edge of St. Helena. Sweet, voluptuous and powerful, the 2014 is endowed with tremendous depth from start to finish. Inky red and purplish fruit, menthol, pine and sweet spices are front and center. The 2014 is an especially ripe, flamboyant wine, but all the elements are very nicely balanced. About 40% of the wine is fermented in oak uprights.
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve exhibits a terrific intensity and richness and could easily equal what they achieved with their 2013 Reserve. I'll wait until it's in bottle to provide more detailed notes.
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is fabulous today. Harmonious, deep and beautifully layered throughout, the 2014 marries opulence with energy in a wine of cool sophistication. In this vintage, the approach really seems to gel, as all the elements are in the right place, while there is no question the French oak is better integrated. This is also the first vintage made on the property itself. This is a terrific showing from the young team at Sinegal.
