Punteggio 91/100 · Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Aug 2014

Meo-Camuzet’s 2011 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru aux Boudots has a bouquet similar to Patrice Rion’s Amoureuses but is more controlled, with fresh cranberry and red cherries, a touch of tomato leaf suggesting just a little under-ripeness, but it actually ameliorates with time in the glass, coalescing with macerated red cherries, Maraschino and a touch of cassis. The palate is medium-bodied, with a dense yet static opening. The oak seems a little dominant at the moment and suppresses the fruit and character expression of Amoureuses, the finish just a little tapered and masculine, balanced and fresh but missing verve at the moment. Maybe that will develop with time because one can see the potential. Tasted June 2014.

Good dark red. Expressive aromas of redcurrant, cherry and smoky minerals. Silky and inviting, with harmonious acidity framing the red fruit and coffee torrefaction flavors. A fleshy, fairly large-scaled 2011 with sweet, smooth tannins and excellent length. Jean-Nicolas Meo told me that his 2011s are as high in phenolic ripeness as his 2012s.

Bright purplish crimson. Slightly raw notes on the nose. Quite demanding with some oak in evidence. But some purity too. Some more like a tisane than a ferment – lots of maceration perhaps? (JR)

Good bright medium red. Sexy, high-pitched aromas of raspberry, minerals and blood orange. A juicy, very fresh midweight with precise red berry and spice flavors. Finishes with a firm tannic spine that's likely to require four or five years of bottle aging. Larger-scaled than the Murgers.
